an all stainless steel coil with no exposed fins for
exceptional durability in corrosive insect rearing environments.
In traditional incubators, copper tubes and aluminum
fins quickly corrode when exposed to the propionic acid
in drosophila media. Other manufacturers extend the
life of an insect chamber evaporator coil by coating
it with epoxy, which is a short-term solution at best,
extending the life of the coil by a year or two. Only
BioCold can offer a lifetime guarantee on its insect
chamber evaporator coils.
Hot gas bypass refrigeration with microprocessor-based
PID controls ensures precise temperature control in
our insect chambers, while our ultrasonic vapor generator
offers a reliable and energy-efficient means of humidity
control.
All BioCold insect rearing chambers come standard
with a glass door for convenient sample viewing. The
oversized hot gas bypass conditioning system ensures
sufficient capacity for stable operation at 18°C and
below.
For diurnal lighting studies, we have incorporated
a new programmable digital timer with 5-1-1 daily and
hh:mm settings maximum flexibility. Drosophila chambers
with diurnal lighting option also come equipped with
a light-proof aluminum door cover to provent interference
with the lighting conditions inside the insect chamber.
All BioCold insect rearing chambers come with a 12
month warranty on all parts and six months on all labor.
